| Q. |
Why can't I add items to my shopping cart?
|
| A. |
Your web browser probably has "cookies" disabled. What's a cookie you ask? It's a delicious treat, but it's also a small file stored on your computer that keeps track of what you're doing on our web site. This file allows us to "remember" what's in your shopping bag. Some people are worried that cookies can be used for profiling or even planting viruses. ROMWEAR does not subscribe to either of these practices. Read our Privacy Policy for more info.

|
| Q. |
What happens after I place my order?
|
| A. |
Upon placing your order you will receive an e-mail confirmation. One of our customer service representatives reviews your order. Items that happen to be in stock are shipped immediately, and those that aren't are added to the production queue. It actually takes between 2-5 weeks to complete an order. When everything is ready, your items are packed and shipped (usually via TNT Express), and we send you a confirmation e-mail with a tracking number. The package arrives, and your new life begins.
|
| Q. |
Why am I not receiving any e-mail confirmations?
|
| A. |
Please check your "spam" filter settings. By rejecting unwanted junk e-mail, you may be inadvertently blocking our messages. Some web-based e-mail tools (such as Google, Yahoo or Hotmail) may block e-mail from unknown senders; you may need to deactivate these settings or check your "junk mail" folder. When you get an e-mail from ROMWEAR, we suggest you choose to "allow sender". This will permit future e-mail from ROMWEAR to reach you without further problems.

How do I take care of the leather Romulan tabi boots?
|
| A. |
Leather should really be protected when new, and then occasionally during its lifetime. When leather has liquids spilled on it, it can become stained, dried out, cracked or attacked by mildew. While there are a few organic water-resisting solutions, serious waterproofing requires that you buy a synthetic treatment. One good product is LeatherGuard, which protects leather from spills, cracking, mildew, UV damage, humidity, fading and minor scuffing. LeatherGuard is a clear, water-based coating that contains no silicone, and is "non-toxic and environmentally safe", and is simply better than anything else we've come across for protecting leather. It works well, and is cleaner and easier to use than organic and most synthetic leather protective treatments.

| Q. |
What kind of socks should I wear?
|
| A. |
Socks provide extra cushion between your foot and the boot and allow your feet to breath and stay dry. In cooler weather, socks also provide insulation to keep your feet warm. In general, thicker socks made of wool and / or synthetic materials keep feet warmer in cold weather and cooler in hot weather when compared to socks made of cotton or thin synthetic materials. Don't use cotton socks. They absorb moisture from your feet then retain it instead of wicking it away. The result is that your feet will be warmer in hot weather and cooler in cold weather. Your boots and feet will be more susceptible to mold and fungus growth.
We love toe socks. Here are some of our favorites:
We're still looking for tabi socks, let us know if you know a good source!

Washing instructions?
|
| A. |
All items are pre-washed to minimize shrinking. To best protect the design features, machine wash in warm water (no hotter than 30°C / 86°F), and hang-dry or iron inside-out. See above for leather.
